Expertise in rope constructions – innovation in dialogue
For decades we have been planning and building the best rope constructions for playgrounds and sports areas. The invisible aspect of our work, that is to say the theoretical aspect, consists in discussions, research and constant further development:
What is the optimal structure for ropes? How should the standards for play area equipment be applied? What fall areas are necessary for rope play equipment and which surface materials are suitable? What influence does the rope’s slack have on the cutting forces? How can rope play equipment encourage children’s development?
For many years, therefore, we have attached great importance to an active exchange with architects, students and planners.
For us, engaging with the theory behind three-dimensional rope constructions, as well as behind all other aspects of our work, forms the basis of the quality and innovation for which we are renowned.
This is how practical new applications with high technical, artistic and architectural standards come into being – ever since the invention of the Spacenet by Conrad Roland in 1971.
We see the transfer of knowledge relating to these fascinating constructions as an important task, and one which we approach with enthusiasm. At the Seilakademie we combine these activities in the form of seminars, conventions, exhibitions and other events.
This website for planners, architects and students is the perfect complement to our events and to maintaining personal contacts. We are continually developing our online presence, and we look forward to a constructive dialogue with our users in the process.
